MFA show opening on Thursday!
Hey folks,
Just a reminder that my Photography and Related Media MFA cohort will be hosting an opening for our thesis show at RIT this Thursday evening from 5-7pm. We hope you can visit and celebrate this occasion with us!
For visitors to the RIT campus, parking is free after 5pm or by permit during the daytime hours. Permits can be picked up for free at the welcome center, located at 100 Lomb Memorial Dr, Rochester, NY. Parking is available in Lots E, F, G, and H and you can access Gannett Hall by walking through the MAGIC Spell Studios entrance near those lots. The William Harris Gallery is located on the 3rd floor of Gannett Hall, adjacent to Imaging Systems Lab and around the corner from the Photo Cage and Airport Lounge.
In preparation for this week’s exhibition, I spoke with Aaron Garland about my thesis project and aspirations for studying photography at RIT. It was a great opportunity to share about my earlier queer music projects and the curatorial and studio work I’ve done with other artists over the last few years. Please give it a read!
Lastly, if you are unable to visit Rochester for this exhibition but would like to schedule a studio visit (virtual or otherwise), you are welcome to reach me by email: studio@chavezlouis.com
Thanks!
