MFA Thesis Show Opening on April 6th
Hey everyone,
Save the date (if you haven’t already) — the Photography and Related Media MFA thesis exhibition will be taking place at RIT’s William Harris Gallery from April 6th to April 21st, 2023. Please join us for an opening event on April 6th from 5-7pm!
Preceding The Future reflects upon notions of social histories, familial memory, and a desire to see the unseen. The exhibition includes photographic works and installations by Justin Aungst, Lynn Bierbaum, Louis Chavez, Vibhav Kapoor, Madelyn Lohman, Nell Pittman, and C. Rose Smith. We look forward to sharing the work we have created over the past two years in our program. It’s a bittersweet moment to bring this time to a close, though new beginnings are afoot. Our exhibition title is a marker of this moment.
The William Harris Gallery is located on the 3rd floor of Gannett Hall, adjacent to Imaging Systems Lab and around the corner from the Photo Cage and Airport Lounge. Visitors are required to obtain a free parking pass from the RIT Welcome Center at 100 Lomb Memorial Drive. Parking is available in Lot E, which faces MAGIC Spell Studios, and no pass is required after 5pm. Gannett Hall is easily accessed by crossing through or coming around MAGIC.
As the semester comes to a close, I will send out an update that discusses my recent trip to Denver for the Society for Photographic Education conference as well as installation images of this thesis exhibition. In the meantime, I hope you can visit the exhibition at RIT and share your feedback with me along the way. Thank you again for your support!
Kindly,
Louis
