Three recent and unrelated photographs
(and a couple of updates, too)
Hello friends,
I’m writing to share a few stray images and to update you on some coming events.
In March, I will be presenting at the national conference for the Society for Photographic Education (SPE) in Denver, Colorado. My presentation, New Intimacies: Cruising, Temporality, and Geographies of Desire, will outline the recent work that has gone into my graduate research and thesis project. In addition to presenting, I am also very excited to attend a panel discussion that is moderated by a former professor, Ariel Evans, on the beginning years of the SPE Women’s Caucus, as well as presentations by Nigel Poor and Jess T. Dugan. Please send a message if you will be attending this conference or other events related to the Month of Photography in Denver — it would be lovely to meet other artists and educators along the way!
In April, my graduate cohort will be hosting our MFA thesis exhibition in the William Harris Gallery at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, April 6th from 5:00-8:00pm and the show will close on April 21st, 2023. The gallery is open to the public for the duration of the exhibition and we look forward to sharing the work with those in the Rochester community and beyond.
Until soon,
L
